Nuno Santo welcomed Valencia’s qualification for the Champions League by saying Los Che are where they deserve to be.
Valencia confirmed fourth place from the attentions of Sevilla with a 3-2 win over Almeria, Sergi Barjuan’s side relegated in the process.
“[The Champions League] is the place the club deserves, because Valencia has to be among the best,” Nuno is quoted as saying by AS.
“The first thing is to congratulate the players for the effort and daily dedication and for the belief in the work and for leading the team to success.
“Teams have won Leagues with 77 points. The game went well but we failed with our concentration at set-pieces.
“We were able to react and we were more aware of what we were doing than what Sevilla were doing.
“You have to appreciate how well we have done this year.
“The project isn’t just this game but this is the hook for next season. We’ll certainly be better and now we need to think about how we improve.”
