Iker Casillas has revealed that he “would like” David de Gea to join Real Madrid this summer – but not at his expense.
Amateur footage of Los Blancos supporters outside their team’s Valdebebas training complex saw the goalkeeper respond to questions about the Manchester United star’s potential arrival and whether it would have ramifications for his own future.
“Yes I will be [at Madrid next season]. Shall I say it again for you?” he is quoted as telling one fan in the video.
“Of course I would [like De Gea to come here].”
Casillas’ remarks were not echoed, however, by United boss Louis van Gaal, who maintained at a Press conference on Friday that De Gea would still be at Old Trafford next season.
“I believe still that David de Gea shall stay,” the Dutchman concluded.
