‘Depor ready for season-decider’

Sidnei says Deportivo La Coruna will be “playing for our season” when they welcome Levante to Riazor in La Liga on Sunday.

A run of no wins in 14 matches has left the Galicians level on points with the relegation zone going into the penultimate round of the season, and the Benfica loanee has urged his team-mates to show solidarity in the side’s hour of need.

“We’re playing for our season [on Sunday] and it’ll surely be a very interesting match,” he told reporters.

“We’ll need to concentrate for the entire 90 minutes in order to achieve our objective [of winning the game].

“We all need to stick together and be united for the victory because it’s the only way we can achieve survival.

“This week is very important and special for both the players and fans.

"We hope they come to support us. We’ll do our best on the pitch to earn a good result and send the fans home happy.

“We know [Levante’s] qualities and the players they have, but we’ve worked hard this week in order to play well [against Levante].

“I’m only concerned about ourselves, getting the result [against Levante] and survival. We must only think of ourselves and doing our jobs right.

“Unfortunately, we’ve conceded first in recent games, but hopefully tomorrow we’ll reverse that and get the win.”
