James Rodriguez acknowledged the disappointment Real Madrid felt at their Champions League semi-final elimination.
Los Blancos went down 3-2 on aggregate to Juventus after only managing to draw 1-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu , while the Colombian called on his teammates get their heads up for next year’s Champions League.
“When you don’t score goals this is what happens,” James told reporters post-match.
“We’ve gone out of the competition and are very sad, but we’ll now need to get our heads back up and think about the Champions League for next season.
“We created a lot of chances but their goalkeeper [Gianluigi] Buffon had a great night.
“Juventus had one clear goalscoring opportunity and they took advantage of it.”
