De Gea to Real Madrid not about money

David de Gea’s decision over where he will play his football next season will not be decided by who can pay him the most.

Real Madrid are keen to bring the Manchester United goalkeeper to the Santiago Bernabeu as they seek a replacement for under-fire Iker Casillas, and have earmarked the 24-year-old as his natural successor.

However, the Manchester Evening News reports that De Gea is in a dilemma over his future at United, who have reportedly having made him a lucrative offer to remain at Old Trafford and pen a new contract that would replace his current agreement, that expires in summer 2016.

The Reds are believed to be able to match any proposal Los Blancos can put on the table but money is not the issue for De Gea, who is understood to be happy in England and enjoying life in Manchester.

United need a point from their final two Premier League games to ensure Champions League football for next season, which may only add to the player’s indecision as he contemplates his next move.
