Carvajal: ‘Calmness key for Madrid’

Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal believes European champions can overcome Juventus in their Champions League semi-final second leg.

Los Blancos enter Wednesday’s clash hoping to overturn a 2-1 deficit from last week’s game in Turin and Carvajal feels they are capable of doing it as long as they are not too rash.

“We have to keep cool heads, be patient and not go too crazy,” he told reporters.

“We are aware a game of football lasts 90 minutes and we have to make sure Juve pay a high price and suffer, without possession of the football.

“They created danger for us in Turin and we have to learn from that game. If we stay calm things will fall for us.

“Afterwards, the boss made his feelings clear and we can’t afford to make so many mistakes again with simple passes because we gave them life by doing so.

“This time we’ll have our fans behind us they are sure to be our 12th man. It will be a key factor in us going on to score goals.”

Carvajal says that in the event of the tie going to a penalty shoot-out then he would not hesitate to ask to take one.

“I think at times like that you need to be very brave because you might never get another chance to take a penalty,” he explained.
