Capello: Madrid-Juve still open

Fabio Capello believes everything is still to play for between Real Madrid and Juventus in the Champions League semi-finals.

The Bianconeri won the first leg 2-1 in Turin, but the Coach – who led both clubs to a pair of League titles each – is expecting an open encounter when they rematch at the Santiago Bernabeu next week.

“It was a game between two powerhouses,” he mused to AS.

“2-1 leaves everything open. But [Madrid] must be wary because Juve have good players and are very solid.

“Madrid know what to do and have a lot of quality, but the injury to [Luka] Modric will be noticeable.

“[On Sergio Ramos playing central midfield], every Coach knows what he has to do. He trains the players and talks to them every day.

“[Madrid’s midfield] run a lot and are doing well. They’re top class and fight, defend, attack … I’m with Carlo [Ancelotti]. The team he puts out is always the best one.

“[Juve] know how to [attack and defend] very well. I don’t know what their approach will be.

“It depends on whether they want to score a goal. The most important thing for me is [Paul] Pogba.

“[Pogba’s] a great player. He has strength, physicality, quality, [good] finishing, a [good] first touch… He has everything.

“[Andrea Pirlo’s] so intelligent that he’s always in the right place, so he doesn’t need to run as much.”
