Legendary Italian goalkeeper Dino Zoff says he prefers Iker Casillas between the sticks to countryman Gianluigi Buffon.
Casillas and Buffon lock horns in the Champions League semi-final first leg clash between Juventus and Real Madrid in Turin on Tuesday, and Zoff gave his opinion on the tie.
“If you ask me who is the best between Casillas and Buffon then I’d go for Casillas, but I think Manuel Neuer is the best of the lot,” he told Radio 4G’s ‘El Pelotazo Tarde’ programme.
“It’s not going to be easy for Madrid against Juventus because they are a strong and compact team, although not as good as the one I played in.
“I think both sides will have to get the balance right between defence and attack, while I think Real Madrid have got the best possible Coach they could have in Carlo Ancelotti.
“He proved he was a great Coach in England and now he’s showing it in Spain.”
