Chicharito on Juve ‘learning curve’

Javier Hernandez has admitted that Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to Juventus in the Champions League semi-finals was a ‘learning curve’ for Real Madrid.

Los Blancos head into next week’s return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu with a one-goal deficit after Carlos Tevez’s penalty cancelled out Cristiano Ronaldo’s equaliser, but the Mexican striker is remaining defiant in the face of adversity.

“The feeling is negative because we lost the game. We fought until the end but still left with a one-goal deficit,” he said after the game.

“We have to remain calm and use this [defeat] as a learning curve because there’s no small teams left in this competition.

“The Coach asked us to show character and did what we’d done in the League. [Juve] had a great game and now we have to try to win the return match.

“I’ve always said that you have to respect every decision [made by the Coach], but no player likes sitting on the bench.

“From [Wednesday], we have to swallow this [result] and start thinking about Valencia, who are also fighting for the League.”
