Cordoba boss Jose Luis Romero admits his team are in the last chance saloon as far as top-flight survival is concerned.
A 1-0 defeat to Levante on Tuesday has virtually put paid to the survival hopes of La Liga’s bottom club, and Romero concedes it is now more difficult.
“Every minute that passes makes it harder. Mathematically we are still in it but it’s even tougher now,” he told reporters.
“Even so, I’ve got to try and lift the players for when we play Barcelona on Saturday, so we’ll have to re-arm ourselves.
“We must try everything to ensure that emotionally we are as strong as possible because this weekend will be another game and we’ll be going out to compete with great pride,” insisted Romero.
Cordoba are 11 points adrift of safety with just four games of the season remaining.
