Kroos: ‘I’ll speak to German referee’

Toni Kroos has joked he will speak to German referee Felix Brych before Real Madrid take on Atletico Madrid and ask not to be booked.

Brych is in charge for the Champions League quarter-final second-leg game between the clubs at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday, and Kroos was asked about his countryman after the Serbian referee in last week’s first leg was criticised for some poor decisions.

“I’ll have a word with him before the game and ask him not to show me a yellow card!” he told reporters at a Press conference.

“Seriously though, he’s a very good referee for what is going to be a tough game against difficult opponents.

“We know how Atleti are going to play and if we play our own game for the entire 90 minutes then we’ll win.

“The aim is to qualify for the semi-finals whichever way we can,” he declared.
