Muniain set for long spell out?

Athletic Bilbao star Iker Muniain could be set for a long spell on the sidelines after he was stretchered off with a suspected knee injury against Sevilla.

The winger came off worse for wear from a collision with Ever Banega on 42 minutes at the Sanchez Pizjuan on Saturday, appearing to twist his left knee in the process, and was seen leaving the pitch in agony.

During the game, Athletic’s official Twitter account announced that the 22-year-old picked up “a sprain in his left knee and will undergo further tests on April 7” to determine his recovery time and whether he sustained any serious damage.

Consequently, it is unknown at this stage if Muniain will be fit enough for the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona on May 30.
