Ancelotti: James will start

Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that James Rodriguez will start Real Madrid’s visit of Granada on Sunday.

The Colombian midfielder will take the place of the suspended Isco in the middle of the park after making a full recovery from a broken metatarsal in his right foot, sustained against Sevilla on February 4.

“James is fine, he’ll start. I’ll rest [Sami] Khedira and [Dani Carvajal. In a week I think [Pepe] will be fine,” he said at a Press conference.

“In our last home game, [Gareth Bale] scored two goals and did well against Barcelona.

“He also did well for Wales. The break helped him regain both his and the other players’ confidence.

“We understand that in recent months there are players who haven’t played much. I’ve explained to the players that I need them all.

“[Lionel] Messi has done very well these past two months, while Cristiano [Ronaldo]’s performance levels have dropped a little, but Cristiano will turn his statistics around in the next two months.”
