Jaume Costa: ‘Valencia will be tough’

Villarreal defender Jaume Costa believes it will be a tough task for his team next weekend when they visit Valencia.

The 27-year-old, who came through the youth ranks at Mestalla before joining the Yellow Submarine in summer 2010, is hoping Marcelino’s side can make some ground on third-placed Valencia in their quest for a European spot this season.

“We’ll be up against tough opponents who are also very sharp in front of goal,” Costa told a Press conference.

“I’ve watched all their games on television and they score easily, which means we’ll need to be strong defensively and take our chances at the other end.

“The past month has been difficult because we’ve been knocked out of two competitions and it’s taken its toll on us a little bit, but now we must start to think of the exciting game we’ve got coming up at Mestalla.

“We’ll be fighting for three very important points while winning there would be great and it would lift our spirits.

“However, the best thing would be that it would be good for the team as we enter the final stage of the season,” he added.
