Karim Benzema has claimed that Real Madrid “are the best club in history” ahead of the Clasico against Barcelona on Sunday.
Despite their recent slump, Los Blancos won the two sides’ first meeting 3-1 last October and the striker has attempted to stoke the fires in light of the rematch at Camp Nou this weekend.
“We know there’s a lot of pressure [on us], but it’s normal. We’ll prepare well together and go to Barcelona with the intention of winning,” he remarked to Bwin.
“The ‘BBC’ defend and attack together. There are good games when we score goals, and others when we don’t, but we always work hard for the team. We just think of working to win together.
“Luka [Modric] is a great player and always plays forward. Being an attacker, it’s very good to play with him because he has a lot of quality in his final pass.
“We’re a team and we’ll work together to defend and stop Barca’s players. It’s good to have [Sergio Ramos] back playing.
“We’re Real Madrid, the best club in history. [To score another Clasico goal], I just need a little luck and nothing more.”
