Reports: Cordoba sack Djukic

It’s been reported that La Liga’s bottom side Cordoba have sacked Miroslav Djukic as Coach and replaced him with Jose Antonio Romero.

Both AS and Marca claim Djukic’s services were dispensed with on Monday after the defeat to Malaga left Los Califas four points adrift at the foot of the table and nine points short of safety.

Cordoba have lost their last eight games and not won in nine, their last victory coming in mid-January against Rayo Vallecano.

Djukic was appointed in the autumn in place of Albert Ferrer, the former Barcelona defender who took the Andalusians into the top flight.

Romero had been in charge of Cordoba’s B team and also oversees the cantera. His first game in charge will be a trip to Anoeta, to play Real Sociedad on Sunday.
