Carlo Ancelotti was complimentary of both Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo after Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory over Levante in La Liga on Sunday.
The Welshman bagged a brace against the Valencians, with the No 7 playing a key role in the build-up to either goal, and the Coach was encouraged by the attacking intent shown by his forwards.
“I thought Cristiano [Ronaldo] was lively because our first goal came from a shot of his, which was blocked by a defender and then scored by [Gareth] Bale,” he noted to assembled journalists.
“Our second [goal was] the same. Cristiano didn’t score but was lively throughout the game.
“We arrive at Camp Nou with the utmost confidence. [Returning duo Luka] Modric and [Sergio] Ramos made important contributions to the team.
“Modric [was important] because of his quality during the game and Sergio because of his character.
“Modric and Sergio [ended the game] in good condition and we didn’t incur any cards. I think we’ll arrive at Camp Nou with almost all of our squad available.
“I saw a more motivated Bale, with more desire, and the team were more focused. We all did well for a part of the game, but on Sunday we must do well for the entirety.
“[Sami Khedira and Alvaro Arbeloa] were left out on technical grounds.”
