The agent of Hakan Calhanoglu has confirmed Barcelona’s interest in the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder but insists his client is happy where he is.
The Turkey international has impressed for the Bundesliga side since joining in a €14.5 million deal from Hamburg last summer, scoring against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League a fortnight ago.
Consequently, it had been reported in the Spanish Press that Barca’s new technical commission sounded out the 21-year-old as one of three potential targets for next season, along with Paul Pogba and Koke.
“Not to sound arrogant, but Hakan isn’t bothered by Barcelona’s interest," Calhanoglu’s representative Bektas Demirlas told German newspaper Express.
“Hakan has everything he needs at Leverkusen. He’s playing in the Champions League and competing for the DFB-Pokal [German Cup], plus things are going well [for him] in the the Bundesliga.”
