Agent: Vietto on Madrid radar

The agent of Luciano Vietto has revealed that the striker is ‘really liked’ by both Real Madrid and Liverpool and could leave Villarreal at the end of the season.

The 21-year-old only arrived at El Madrigal from Racing Avellaneda for €5.5m last summer but has quickly proved himself as one of Spain’s finest young talents, scoring 18 goals in all competitions this term.

“I know that many big clubs are following Luciano Vietto. There’s great competition for him,” Jorge Cyterszpiler, best known as Diego Maradona’s first representative, was quoted as saying by AS.

“He could sign for Liverpool because I know they really like him, along with Real Madrid and two Bundesliga clubs.

“I think he could leave Villarreal at the end of the season.”

Villarreal President Fernando Roig is understood to be holding out for a fee in the region of €30m for Vietto, but the newspaper reports the attacker’s release clause currently stands at just €10m.

A swap deal involving Denis Cheryshev, who has spent 2014-15 on loan at the Yellow Submarine from Madrid, could be in the offing, while Barcelona may join the race once their transfer embargo ends next year.
