Gaizka Garitano insists he remains optimistic for Eibar despite a run of poor results and a narrow defeat against Villarreal.
Luciano Vietto scored the only goal of the game at El Madrigal, netting late on, to condemn Los Ameros to a fifth straight defeat and sixth game without a win.
“I look to the future with optimism. I see the team working with enthusiasm,” Garitano said, AS reports, despite his side’s rotten run.
“We have our limitations but we have faced a lot of difficulties. Discouragement isn’t a word in our dictionary. From tomorrow we prepare for the next game. Our struggle is daily and it doesn’t stop.
“The game was how we wanted it to be. We defended well and it was a shame we didn’t cause more problems with the ball. It was a shame the goal came after a mistake.
“We came very close to scoring. For us to compete against Villarreal makes us happy. We did a lot well.”
