Reports in the Spanish Press claim the striker felt feverish throughout a light training session at Veltins-Arena and left the workout prematurely.
However, there has been no official word as yet on whether his decision to pull out was confirmation that he would miss the match or merely a precaution.
Elsewhere, there was better news for Pepe, who completed the session without any problems, having made a full recovery from a rib injury to feature in the 20-man travelling party.
