‘De Gea done to Madrid? Not true…’

Jorge Mendes has insisted there is no deal in place to take David De Gea from Manchester United to Real Madrid.

Mendes touched on the status of the goalkeeper on an appearance on El Laguero in which he attempted to dampen the controversy around Cristiano Ronaldo’s birthday party, held the night Madrid were heavily beaten in el Derbi.

The conversation later turned to De Gea, who has been regularly linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu, but Mendes confirmed talks about a new contract at United are on-going.

“It’s not true that there’s a done deal to go to Madrid. I’m negotiating his renewal,” AS reports the agent revealing.

“We haven’t signed anything yet and we’ll see what happens. The players decide what they want. The negotiations are on-going and in principle he could stay at United, but as I say, we haven’t signed anything, yet.”
