Hamstring injury sidelines Ramos

Sergio Ramos faces three weeks on the sidelines after damaging his hamstring in Real Madrid’s 2-1 victory over Sevilla on Wednesday night.

The defended hobbled off in the eighth minute of the clash at the Santiago Bernabeu after trying to intercept a ball into the box and pulling the hamstring as he stretched, with tests

later confirming the Spain international will be out for at least three weeks.

The setback appears to be a recurrence of the problems Ramos suffered in December, when he played in the Club World Cup after doctors warned he would be risking serious injury.

Madrid are now left without one of their key players just three days before visiting La Liga champions Atletico Madrid.

Fellow defender Pepe is also absent with Raphael Varane and Nacho the only centre-backs available for Saturday’s game.
