The son of Diego Simeone has revealed that the Atletico Madrid boss could return to Inter as Coach one day.
El Cholo represented the Nerazzurri as a player between 1997 and 1999, winning the UEFA Cup in his first season, and Giovanni – a River Plate and Argentina Under-20 striker – admits his father still harbours great affection for the Italian giants.
“My father may return to Italy. Inter’s in his heart and he loves them,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“When he’s finished at Atletico, he could go back to Inter. He feels well in Madrid but keeps all his former clubs in his heart.
“We talk for 20 minutes after each game. Depending on how I do, he’ll nag at me. We always speak about attitude.
“He tells me to do my best for the team and that I should study players like Falcao and Batistuta.”
