Franz Beckenbauer has admitted that Bayern Munich would be powerless to keep Pep Guardiola if the Spaniard wanted to leave the club.
Despite being seemingly happy in Bavaria and lifting a debut double last season, the former Barcelona Coach has been linked with a return to La Blaugrana in recent times, along with sides in the Premier League.
“I once said I hoped that [Pep] Guardiola would stay at Bayern for 10 years and still do,” the Germany legend told Bild.
“At Bayern's Christmas party, I got the feeling Pep and his family had become very familiar [with their surroundings].
“In principle, Pep doesn't need a contract. If he wants to go, he'll go anyway, but it'll be hard for him to find better conditions at another club.”
