Madrid “a dream come true” for Silva

Lucas Silva has been unveiled as a Real Madrid player and says it is a dream come true to wear the famous white shirt.

Los Blancos have paid Cruzeiro €13m for the 21-year-old midfielder, who passed a medical on Monday, and revealed he will wear the No 16 shirt.

“I’m very happy to be here and it’s a dream come true. I thank God and the Presidents of Cruzeiro and Real Madrid and everyone involved in my presentation,” he told gathered media.

“I’ve come here to learn and help the team. I’m so happy with how it’s all gone. It’s come soon in my career but I feel I’m ready to wear the Madrid shirt and perform like I did for Cruzeiro.

“I’ve been to the Bernabeu once before with my father and brother. I remember my father was wearing the famous white shirt and I’ve always liked Madrid since I was a child.

“I’ve seen lots of their games and always choose them when I’m playing video games. They are the best team in the world and I want to thank everyone,” he concluded.
