Cordoba ready to make Medran push

Cordoba President Carlos Gonzalez has revealed that he will ask Real Madrid counterpart Florentino Perez about Alvaro Medran’s availability before kick-off.

The new boys host Los Blancos on Saturday, and the patron is hoping to lobby his fellow official into loaning his side the 20-year-old midfielder, a former Califas youth player, for the rest of the season.

“Medran played in the youth ranks at Cordoba, and I’d be happy to have him again,” he told SER Sports.

“I’ll give you a scoop. At lunch, I’ll ask Florentino [Perez] about signing Medran. My sporting director’s asked me to do so.

“If Madrid make him available [for transfer] and the player [wants to be transfered] too, for sure I’ll say yes [to signing him] because there’s nothing better than one of your own coming back in the Primera.

“At lunch [on Saturday} I’ll beg Mr. Perez to loan us Alvaro.”

Medran has made five appearances for Madrid this season but is likely to be pushed further down the pecking order in central midfield following the arrival of Lucas Silva from Cruzeiro.
