Real Madrid have made fresh contact with Cruzeiro midfielder Lucas Silva over a possible move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
In an interview with Superesportes, Miguel Vieira, the player’s father, confirmed that his son’s agent had called him on Wednesday to reiterate Los Blancos’ interest, following reports Asier Illarramendi could be about to exit Los Blancos on loan to Athletic Bilbao.
“Luiz Rocha [Silva’s agent] called me today and said negotiations with Real Madrid are back underway, although he didn’t give me any more details,” disclosed Vieira.
“We want the best for Lucas and Cruzeiro. Of course, the situation won’t be forced but there was a meeting between the club and the agent and his value remains the same.
“I read that Madrid want to sell one of their midfielders and Lucas could be his replacement. That’s all I know.
“Hopefully the offer will materialise and God will indicate which path to choose,” he added.
