Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto has expressed his delight at being handed opportunities to impress in the Copa del Rey this season.
Despite rarely featuring in La Liga or the Champions League, the starlet has been an ever-present in the cup competion to date and scored during La Blaugrana's 4-0 victory at Elche on Thursday.
“The cup is giving me the opportunity of playing more minutes. The team are doing a good job and I want to help the team,” he said after the game.
“Scoring a goal always helps a player, but my main objective is to help the team. If I score a goal, it's even better.
“Atletico ]Madrid] are a very difficult team to face, and it'll be even harder with the return leg at their stadium.
“We must give 100 percent [against them] so we can have a very good game. Each team have their strengths and weaknesses, and that helps us prepare for games.
“We've had more days to rest [without the Champions League], but it's always better for a team to be challenging on all fronts.”
