Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that Real Madrid are aiming to become the first club in the Champions League era to lift back-to-back European Cups.
Los Blancos finally prevailed in their pursuit of La Decima last season, as they became the first team to win 10 elite titles on the continent, and the Coach is hoping his troops continue to make history in 2014-15.
“To win an 11th Champions League is our dream,” he told Tuttosport.
“We’d be the only team to have won the trophy for two consecutive seasons since UEFA changed the format of the competition.
“The president would be thrilled, and we’ll do everything to make him happy. “We’ll have no limits [as to what we can achieve] in 2015.
“We’ll try to overcome everything to reach the highest level possible. “We have a wonderful squad, the best in the world, and we can win it all.
“Winning is an obligation because of Madrid’s history and prestige. This is Real Madrid, after all.”
Ancelotti then reiterated his belief that Madrid’s 4-2 defeat to Milan was 'without pain’, while Gareth Bale would not be sold by the club.
“Losing to Milan was a defeat without pain, it didn’t hurt us. After a week off, we had to get back up to speed,” the Italian added.
“Physically we were fine, but the Milan played well and we didn’t. However, this doesn’t ruin everything good we achieved in 2014, we had a fantastic year.
“Gareth Bale is essential for us, he’s a symbol of Real Madrid and can’t leave.”
