Reports in the English media are today claiming that Liverpool have set their sights on landing Luciano Vietto from Villarreal.
The Daily Mirror are convinced that the Reds have already given up on Mario Balotelli, who has failed to honour his €20m price tag, and targeted the player referred to as ‘the new Sergio Aguero’.
With that in mind, Liverpool are reportedly preparing a €15m bid for the Argentine starlet, a sharp increase on the €5.5m shelled out by the Yellow Submarine in the summer.
Although Vietto has some way to before catching up with Aguero’s statistics, the former Racing Club ace has scored 12 goals in 23 matches this season, including the winner at Atletico Madrid in Week 15.
However, the Premier League runners-up are believed to face competition from Real Madrid and Inter for the 21-year-old's services.
