‘Montoya a good defender, but…’

Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri spoke of his admiration for Barcelona’s Martin Montoya but insisted there were ‘other players to consider’.

The right-back recently broke into La Blaugrana’s first team, with appearances against Huesca and Cordoba, but his future remains uncertain ahead of the January transfer window.

“Montoya's a good defender and has good technique, but he still plays for Barcelona and there are other players to consider,” the trainer said at a Press conference.

The 24-year-old’s contract does not expire until 2018, but the player's agent has been clear about his client's unhappiness at Camp Nou in recent months.

A report in Saturday's edition of Sport claimed Montoya had favoured a move to Juve next month, rebuffing Liverpool in the process.
