Barca star wants permanent exit

Barcelona midfielder Alex Song has said that he would like to make his loan deal at West Ham United a permanent arrangement.

The Cameroon international joined the Hammers on a season-long loan in the summer and has been an integral part of Sam Allardyce’s side moving into fourth in the Premier League.

French club Marseille would also like to sign the 27-year-old but the player has indicated he is keen to remain in England.

“I have always said if I left Barcelona it would be to return to England,” Song told Le10Sport, having spent over six years with Arsenal before moving to Spain.

“This summer I could have signed for a club in Italy, France or Turkey but I never wanted to. People asked why I joined West Ham but I don’t regret it. I’d like to stay here.”
