‘Neuer better than Bravo’

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen admits Manuel Neuer is the best goalkeeper in the world, ahead of Barcelona teammate Claudio Bravo.

The Bayern Munich goalkeeper will go toe-to-toe with the Chilean for the position of goalkeeper in this year's FIFPro World XI, but the Germany international made clear his allegiances, despite offering sympathy to his club colleague.

"Really?" Ter Stegen joked at a Press conference ahead of Wednesday's clash with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

"I'm sorry for Claudio, but for me the best goalkeeper is Manuel Neuer.

"Claudio is a fantastic goalkeeper, but Neuer won the World Cup and has been proving that he's the best at Bayern.

"I'm lucky because the I'm not the one handing out the [Ballon d'Or] award.

"The three finalists are tremendous, but I can't say whether Manuel deserves it more than the others."

Ter Stegen then lavished praise on former Barca pair Victor Valdes and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the latter of whom will face La Blaugrana in tonight's Group F decider.

"We can't forget about Valdes. He's a sensational player," he added.

"Everyone in the dressing room still talks about him. We do our jobs, but we'll never forget him.

"Ibra's a very good footballer, one of the best, and we must be careful with him [on Wednesday].

"He'll cause us problems, but if we're good defensively, he won't get his goal."
