Alvaro Morata has backed former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo to claim this year's FIFA Ballon d'Or. "He's been above the rest."
The striker joined Juventus in a €20m deal in July, with Los Blancos retaining a buy-back option in two years' time, but such a move has not impacted on his affection for the Portuguese superstar.
"[Iker] Casillas and Sergio Ramos deserve the Ballon d'Or too," he explained to Onda Cero.
"But for the last few years Cristiano has been above the rest, so he'd be the most worthy winner."
Morata then looked ahead to Juve's crunch Champions League encounter with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday and felt his side could 'put themselves back on the map in Europe' with a convincing performance.
"We now have an opportunity to put our name back on the map in Europe," he added.
"We can send a message that Juventus are back. We're at home and we know that we can beat any team here.
"The crowd are going to give everything. Very few stadiums in Spain will look like ours."
