Garitano: Almeria like a playoff

Gaizka Garitano is relishing Eibar's visit of Almeria on Monday afternoon, describing the match as 'like a playoff'.

The Basque minnows crashed to a 3-0 defeat at Getafe in the Copa del Rey last week, but the Coach insists his players have flushed the disappointment out of their system and are concentrating solely on the job at hand.

"We've already forgotten about the Cup," he issued to reporters at a Press conference yesterday.

"Now we're preparing for a very important game. There are more than three points at stake.

"We've gone a long time without winning at home. Now's the time to step forward. We're only thinking about Almeria.

"I've seen a lot of Almeria. They should be higher in the table, as they have presence, but they've lacked goals.

"They ought to have won more, but matches are lost by very fine details.

"They have quick players, especially in attack. We respect them a lot.

"We'll play a game which Almeria will match. We're two needy teams and deserve more points.

"It's a match which we've noted as very important. I have confidence in all my players.

"Almeria is like a playoff game. If we win, we'll make an incredible leap up the table.

"It won’t be easy to win the game. We already know that we'll have to defend hard and well and hit them in attack.

"If we have 16 points, it's because we've done well. Almeria's a vital game."
