Contra downplays Getafe morale

Cosmin Contra insists there is little reason for Getafe to have their head in the clouds ahead of the game against Levante.

It was put to the Coach that beating Eibar 3-0 in the first leg of the Copa del Rey fixture between the pair should have boosted the Madrid club.

Contra conceded the result has helped a little but reminded the Press of the team’s League form, which sees them travel to Levante on the back of two defeats.

“Our morale isn’t through the roof because the situation of the League doesn’t allow it to be very high,” he said, Marca reports.

“We are concerned. We have two straight defeats. Moral has improved a little, there are good feelings, but Levante have improved a lot and it will be a difficult place to go.

“We have the hope of playing a good game and doing something good.

“They are a team that doesn’t leave spaces, they are combative, fast on the counter, and have improved vastly at set-pieces.

“They won at Valencia two weeks ago and that says a lot about their mood. We understand the difficulty of playing there.”
