‘We know Lucas Silva is joining Madrid’

Lucas Silva's Cruzeiro teammates have claimed the midfielder is close to joining Real Madrid.

The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with Los Blancos in recent weeks following Luka Modric's injury, and three of the Brazilian champions' team members believe it is only a matter of time before the starlet makes the switch to Santiago Bernabeu.

"Being able to play for a team like Real Madrid is a dream of any player. We know he'll go, but he still can't come to terms with it, said defender Mayke.

Striker Borges added: "Lucas has everything to play for Madrid, and we're waiting for the move to happen as soon as possible.

"He is a midfielder who presses a lot and is both a quality passer and good finisher."

"Real Madrid are a great club and Lucas is a great player. I'm sure they'll be a good fit,” Everton Ribeiro noted.

"Lucas has done a lot in his two years at Cruzeiro. Now is the time for him to grow in Europe."

Lucas Silva is due to play Cruzeiro's last match of the season against Fluminense, although talks between the Brasileirao outfit and Madrid are expected to progress after the game.

However, AS report that the Selecao youth international could return to Cruzeiro on loan once a move to the Spanish capital has been finalised.
