Ancelotti: Jese needs time

Carlo Ancelotti was delighted with Jese's comeback goal against Cornella but maintained that the forward 'needs time' to recover his best form.

The forward burst back onto the scene by rounding off Los Blancos' 5-0 thrashing of the Segunda B side on Tuesday, yet the Coach admitted that the 22-year-old had some way to go to rediscover his best form, despite showing early signs of promise.

"He must get used to playing again, but he's showing a good attitude. The team put on a serious performance and won the game well," he told reporters after the match.

"We showed good quality in the match and got what we were looking for. Naturally he looks like a player who's been out a long time.

"He'll play against Ludogorets and then take his time. Coming back from an injury is never easy, but he's made a great recovery.

"Jese can play in any position. He prefers to play on the left wing but can play well enough as a centre forward.

"I don't think he's afraid, he just has to get used to facing opponents again, that's the issue, but he's doing one-on-ones and two-on-twos in training without any problems."

Ancelotti then showered praise on James Rodriguez, after the Colombian ever-present added two more goals to his name, and reserved words of encouragement for Javier Hernandez.

"I think it's good [that James has played every game] because he's a player," he continued.

"It's been easy for him to show his quality since arriving here. He'll also improve, but I really like his attitude.

"He's a very humble guy and that's the most important thing. The key for him and our team is to have quality and be humble.

"We have five strikers and the rest of our matches will provide opportunities for everyone."
