Cesc hits back at Ramos’ comments

Cesc Fabregas has admitted he took Sergio Ramos’ comments about his commitment to the Spanish national team personally.

Ramos questioned the attitude of both Fabregas and his Chelsea teammate Diego Costa to La Roja after both pulled out of the recent international fixtures against Belarus and Germany.

However, speaking to Cadena COPE’s ‘El Partido de las 12’ programme, Fabregas has hit back at the Real Madrid defender and revealed he has already spoken to him regarding the matter.

“Yes I took it personally and I’ve already told Sergio what I thought,” disclosed the former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder.

“I told him we’d played together since the Under-21s and he did not need to send messages to the Press.

“I also told him he could always call me and tell me to my face. However, we’ve spoken on the phone and everything is fine.

“I had tendonitis in the hamstring of my left leg. If I’d gone ahead and played the same thing could have happened to me that happened to Modric.

“I talked about it with Vicente del Bosque and everything was very easy. Things like this happened to him when he was a player.

“I’ve been with Spain 94 times and have always shown up with a smile from ear to ear.

“It hurts if anybody doubts my commitment,” he added.
