Sergi Roberto: Sevilla & Valencia key

Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto feels the next two League matches against Sevilla and Valencia are going to be vital.

The 22-year-old has received the all clear after missing the victories over Ajax and Almeria with a groin problem, and sees the upcoming games as a chance to get some playing time in and regain match fitness.

“I had a slight groin problem but I’m back training now, although not being with the Spain Under-21 side has given me time to recover,” he told Barca TV.

“The matches against Sevilla and Valencia are going to be very important and we’ll have to give everything because they are very strong and right behind us.

“But we have a lot of fixtures coming up, including the Copa del Rey, and I hope between now and December I can get some minutes and regain fitness, which for a player is the most important thing.”

Sergi Roberto also commented on facing Gerard Deulofeu against Sevilla this Saturday, his former Barcelona teammate spending the 2014-15 campaign on loan with the Andalusians.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing him. I saw him before when I was with the Under-21s but it will be strange to see him in a shirt other than Barca’s.”
