Laure wary of Moyes effect

Deportivo la Coruna right-back Laure has warned his team about the arrival of David Moyes as new Coach at Real Sociedad.

Depor take on La Real at Riazor on Saturday night in what will be Moyes’ first game in charge of the San Sebastian club, and Laure is wary of the effect the Scot’s appointment will have in reinvigorating his new charges.

“It’s bad for us because every player wants to show what he can do and earn a place when a new Coach arrives,” the Madrid-born player told La Voz de Galicia.

“There was already a big improvement in their last game [against Atletico Madrid] and they are a team that can do much more.

“I can’t imagine them being near the bottom all year and this is a key game for us as it would mean we would move further up the table – at least for a couple of days.”

Laure is hoping the international break treats his team as well as it has done so far this season, with Depor’s only two victories coming after the break.

“We have to maintain that streak. The international stoppage has always done us good so that we can clarify ideas and solve problems, and hopefully this will be the same.”

The Galicians, however, will need to contend with a few injury worries going into the game, particularly in attack.

“It’s true we’ve not got everyone available we would have liked, but we have enough resources to go into this match with a lot of hope,” insisted Laure.
