James Rodriguez insists he is happy at Real Madrid but admitted he has more freedom to play when with Colombia.
The World Cup Golden Boot is in London as Los Cafeteros prepare to play the United States at Fulham’s Craven Cottage and spoke to reporters from the capital after Carlo Ancelotti discussed his role within the team in an interview.
“I’m happy that he mentioned me because that means he thinks I’m doing a good job and my work isn’t in vain,” James said, according to AS.
“I have to be open to everything. With Madrid a play a little further back. Here I can play as a 10, more as the point. I have more freedom.
“Everything has an influence. Feeling good, training well, being at a high level…everything is an important factor when it comes to playing.”
