Mikel Arteta: Moyes knows what to do

Mikel Arteta maintains David Moyes will know instinctively what will need to be done when he takes charge at Real Sociedad.

Arsenal midfielder Arteta, who was signed for Everton from La Real by Moyes in January 2005, initially on loan, believes the former Manchester United boss has had time to take stock since being sacked at Old Trafford and will relish the challenge in San Sebastian.

“I’m sure David has reflected on what happened to him in Manchester and he’ll know what needs changing at Real Sociedad,” he told Marca.

“Someone who succeeded over 10 years with Everton, but whose 10-month stay at United didn’t go to plan, doesn’t suddenly forget how to coach.

“I’ve spoken to him and told him he’ll be going to a fantastic place, while he will be joining a club that in many aspects is similar to Everton.

“It’s a family club with a group of players that are currently in a position they don’t deserve to be.

“David has a great personality and his teams always take the initiative. He likes to maintain are very united bunch of players and places a lot of importance on that.

“He is always on top of players so they always give their best. If they do that then their week will be made a lot easier.

“In addition, he also takes a personal interest in his players,” added the 32-year-old.
