Djukic: No Cordoba criticism

Miroslav Djukic saw no need to criticise Cordoba for losing to Atletico Madrid as the champions are ‘in a different League.’

Atletico won 4-2 at Vicente Calderon and Djukic said after the final whistle that considering his side were away at the home of the champions, they gave a good account of themselves.

“I think the team competed well for 60 minutes and overall I’m happy with the game,” he said, AS reports.

“We’ve going to improve and refine some things but I have nothing to criticise my team for. Keep in mind we are at the home of the champions.

“Atletico play very good football. They have more quality to their game, the way they use the ball. They have more ways than before.

“They have a lot of resources and can certainly fight for the League title.

“Overall we’ve been good. We held up well until the first goal, which came from a deflection.

“Atletico aren’t in our League. This was a game where we competed at a high level and now we have to correct errors and continue working to get victories against teams in our League.”
