Former Manchester United boss David Moyes has been linked with the post at Real Sociedad if the Basques axe current Coach Jagoba Arrasate.
According to COPE, the 51-year-old is being lined up by the Basques as a possible replacement should they fail to beat Malaga at Anoeta this weekend.
La Real have had a disastrous start to the season, having been knocked out of the Europa League by Krasnodar and sit just one place above the relegation zone, and Arrasate has been told by club President Jokin Aperribay that he is looking at alternatives.
"It is true that we are working on finding other alternatives and possibilities. I have spoken about that with the Coach [Arrasate], who knows that already.
"A club in this situation looks at alternatives and possibilities in case things happen and situations get more difficult," he said.
Moyes has been without a club since being sacked by United in April, while other contenders are understood to be Juande Ramos, Thomas Tuchel and Pepe Mel.
