Pep Guardiola has congratulated former Barcelona President Joan Laporta after he and 16 fellow ex-directors had a legal action dismissed.
The case in question had been brought by another former President, Sandro Rosell, who accused his predecessor of altering accounts when the club was under his control and generating losses of €47.6m.
Judge Jose Martinez Borreguero found in favour of Laporta and his board members on Tuesday, and former director Rafa Yuste has revealed that Guardiola, boss at the Camp Nou during Laporta’s reign, had personally offered his congratulations.
“Guardiola has been on the phone to congratulate him,” Yeste told Radio Catalunya.
Earlier in the day journalist Isaac Lluch, who normally covers the Bundesliga and in particular Guardiola’s club Bayern Munich, confirmed via his Twitter account that Pep was said to be “very, very happy” with the decision.
