Real Madrid defender Marcelo believes victory in El Clasico is very important as Barcelona are always a hard team to beat.
Los Blancos came from behind to get three points and cut the gap on the League leaders to one, Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalty and goals from Pepe and Karim Benzema cancelling out Neymar’s opener.
“We are very pleased as we knew it would be difficult,” Marcelo said, AS reports.
“Barca is always a special game, an amazing game. We won and we played well. It’s important.
“There’s time to relax and enjoy the win. We’re happy but we’re already thinking of the next game, but we can enjoy this. We’ve given joy to the fans.”
Marcelo added on a personal note, after he was commended for his performance, that the run of games he’s had is why his form has picked up.
He added that Madrid as a whole are reaping rewards from following the instructions of the Coach, Carlo Ancelotti.
“I’ve been playing some matches lately and it’s got me in good shape,” Marcelo noted.
“Apart from the confidence I get, it puts me in good shape physically.
“We’re going well. We need to improve some little things, like every team, but our form is good.
“We must take advantage of that and enjoy it. That’s the goal, what the Coach asks of us.”
