Argentina-Ecuador set for Calderon

The Argentine Football Association (AFA) are close to finalising a friendly match with Ecuador on November 15 in Madrid.

Gullermo Tofoni, head of the World Eleven Company that is in charge of organising Argentina games, told Efe that a contract for the fixture is due to be signed within the next few days and that it will take place at Atletico Madrid’s Vicente Calderon stadium.

According to Tofoni, the only detail remaining for the date to be ratified is the authorisation required from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

AS reports that the game against Ecuador will be a chance for the Argentine coaching staff to assess the chances of Juventus striker Carlos Tevez making a return to the squad, having not represented his country since the 2011 Copa America.

In addition to the game in the Spanish capital, Argentina have also agreed to play Portugal at Old Trafford three days later.
