‘Ronaldo will retire at Madrid’

Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes believes his client will retire at Real Madrid and could even play there until he is 40 years old.

According to Mendes, the Portuguese star has no desire to quit the Santiago Bernabeu, despite constant rumours linking him with a return to Manchester United, and will go on to break all records with the Spanish giants.

“Cristiano is very happy at Madrid and it would be impossible to take him away. There will never be another one like him.

“He’s getting better and better all the time and will continue to do so until he is 40.

He’s going to break every record there is with Los Blancos and will retire here,” Mendes told Cadena Cope, before admitting the player still has a soft spot for Manchester United.

“He has a love of United because his heart was there six years. But now he only thinks of Real Madrid and will always be here.

“He’s really happy, although he respects the people who remember him, but he’s fully committed to Madrid.”

Mendes did not hold back on his words in his continued praise of Ronaldo.

“In addition to being the best footballer in the world he’s also the best sportsman and nobody compares to him.

“There will be nobody like him for the next 500 years. He’s a very humble person and a family man, a great father.

“He is the son any mother would want and cares about others. He has so many good things about him that it is impossible to describe,” he enthused.
